American artist Ruth Van Sickle Ford (1897 - 1989) washes dishes under the vaulted ceiling of the living area of her home, which she designed with her husband, the civil engineer Albert Ford, and the architect Bruce Goff, Aurora, Illinois, 1951. The house was modeled after a traditional Tibetan nomad tent.
